Weymouth STW – Inlet Steelwork
Critical H&S Access and Structural Improvement
Scope:
Weymouth STW - A statement of need came from a pell frischmann report assessing the H2S attack on the existing steelwork. As a result, Gel Engineering worked with Wessex Water to replace the main steelwork around the inlet screens and action repairs on faults which have been reported as a level 4/5 H&S risk.
Gel employed as Principal Contractor responsible to produce all relevant paperwork including RAMS, CPP, H&S File and Programme of Works, with sufficient time for amendment/review (10 days minimum).
Provision of all required plant to conduct the full scope of works.
Requirement to plan, manage & monitor the scheme throughout the duration of the works, as per CDM requirements.
Remove all existing steelwork and platforms for screens 1-4.
Installation of flooring, handrailing and overflow pipework to Wessex Water standards.
Electrical contractor to move isolators on band screens and replace the tray work.
Hire of equipment required for the project.
Skips for waste removal.
Supply and install of like for like stainless steel pipe bridge to replace corroded existing galvanised unistrut bridge.
Supply and install new flooring by cutting out existing concrete and rebating new flooring structure and OMF.
Supply and install new like for like grit detritor access bridge.
